Laurie Gómez Marinez holds a bachelor’s degree in University Studies with a minor in Mexican American Studies. In 2022, her poem, México, a Mystery, was published by the Sims Library of Poetry. In 2023, Laurie founded the Mexican American Students Y Más (MAS Y Más) Student Organization at TAMUCC, offering an immersive experience into the rich tapestry of Mexican American culture, history, and heritage, empowering students to connect with their roots and develop as future leaders. She currently lives in Corpus Christi, Texas, with her husband and dogs.
