We are patches,
We’re cut from the same cloth,
no matter the color of thread or the size of the needle
There’s no real difference, because we’re all crafted carefully
whether handled with scarred, worn hands or nimble, gentle ones
Mismatched or multi-colored vibrant fabrics, it doesn’t matter since
we are patches, made to match, in any format
No fabric is superior, it’s not humane nor ethical to prefer one over the other, no reason to discriminate
we’re cut from the same cloth,
making up one quilt of humanity, stitched and sewn across the globe
Together we’re stronger, tightknit as one
Without community, we are none
We are patches
