On the couch at midnight in our family room trying to write a few words in my journal, my brain is fried because I’ve worked twelve hours at the office and have tried to please so many people who seem to think I can do everything but sometimes I feel like I can’t do anything at all I’m just jumping from one thing to another thinking maybe I have ADD? I push forms and files from one side of my desk to the other stacking them in what looks like no order but really is order to me, whatever the next e-mail tells me to do, I do, or the next phone call or the next person coming into my office with a cup of coffee or piece of paper or loud voice or serious expression, do you have a minute and may I close the door? I just handle it, ok sure, let’s sit at my table and talk about it, let me see what the handbook says, did you tell your supervisor? are you sure you want to quit? maybe you should quit—
