Baltazar Castillo is a writer, a visual artist and a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Castillo is working on a collection of short stories and a novel based on his experiences as a Hispanic youth growing up in predominantly white middle-class Chicago neighborhoods during the 1970s and 80s. He lives in Chicago. His novel, Jizo, is forthcoming from Sūtra House Publishing in spring 2027. "Henri in Paris, Texas” is his first published work.
