Anne Schuchman is a writer and translator with an MFA in Creative Writing (Fairleigh Dickinson), and a PhD in Italian Studies (NYU). Her creative nonfiction has been published or is in press with The Massachusetts Review, Apricity Press, and The Saranac Review, among others. Recent recognition for her work includes a 2025 Bread Loaf Translators’ Conference scholarship, and she was especially honored to be named a finalist in several essay contests, including The Good Life Review HoneyBee Prize in Short Nonfiction, The Plentitudes Prize in Nonfiction, and the Women on Writing Creative Nonfiction Essay Contest. She has also had a short piece about her work as a birth and bereavement doula adapted for the stage by Premiere Stages-NJ Theatre Alliance.
She lives in Rutherford, New Jersey, where she continues to write and translate, while plotting her next backpacking trip to Italy.
